Canklow woods

I’ve recently visited Rotherham and made the time to visit the Canklow woods with my sketchbook.  The place is on a steep hillside with medieval quarries biting in to it. This cliff is the result of one.

This is a lovely old coppiced oak I spied and just had to draw. Pen with added pastels.
